Manama, October 29 (BNA): According to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Press and Digital Media Law represents a significant advancement in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continuous endeavors to modernize and expand its institutional and legislative frameworks.
HM King: Press and Digital Media Law marks important milestone in modernising legislative framework
His Majesty stated that the law is a reflection of Bahrain’s contemporary and forward-thinking approach to fostering the development of national media and journalism, bolstering their positive role in nation-building, protecting the rights of media professionals and journalists, and empowering them to do their jobs more effectively, conveniently, and professionally. On this occasion, His Majesty congratulated all members of the media and press.
His Majesty the King thanked the Legislative Authority and the Government, led by Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for their cooperation and coordination in enacting the Press, Printing and Publishing Law, strengthening the vital sector and its accomplishments, and acknowledging the contributions of its practitioners in serving the country and society.
Additionally, His Majesty thanked the hardworking citizens who work in journalism and digital media for their efforts and dedication to raising awareness and educating the public. His Majesty expressed delight in the standing of journalism in the Kingdom and the achievements made by its founders and later generations, who serve as a lighthouse of wisdom.
His Majesty reaffirmed Bahrain’s steadfast dedication to protecting the right to free speech and to the advancement of the national press and media, acknowledging its significance as a vital pillar and an active partner in promoting sustainable development, showcasing national accomplishments, educating society, and increasing public awareness.
