Nov. 2, Manama (BNA): In the framework of the 21st Regional Security Summit, “Manama Dialogue 2025,” His Highness Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the area of security between the National Security Council of the Republic of Cyprus and the General Secretariat of the Supreme Defence Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The signing was attended by Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Strategic Security Bureau, and Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor and Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council. Tassos Tsezonis, National Security Advisor and Director of the Intelligence Service of Cyprus, represented the Cypriot delegation.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, according to His Highness, is a reflection of Bahrain’s ambition to increase its international security ties. In order to improve security cooperation with Cyprus, build security networks, and facilitate cooperative preparations to tackle regional and global issues, he said, the agreement is a strategic step that will benefit the security and stability of both nations as well as the area.
His Highness went on to say that the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Cyprus have solid ties that have continued to expand in a number of areas. He emphasized that in light of global changes, especially in the security and economic spheres, this collaboration represents mutual trust and a shared commitment to expanding effective cooperation.
The Memorandum of Understanding facilitates training, ongoing coordination between the two parties, and the sharing of security knowledge and information.
In addition to having joint meetings and tackling future shared security concerns in a way that improves the effectiveness of security work and fortifies strategic structures in both nations, it also supports bilateral efforts to increase regional and global security and stability.
Additionally, His Highness and Tassos Tsezonis reviewed the current collaboration between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Cyprus and talked about areas of common interest.
