Manama, Jan. 10 (BNA): The Bahraini Farmers‘ Market in Budaiya functions as an integrated platform for promoting regional agricultural goods and bolstering domestic production, according to Asim Abdullatif Abdullah, Undersecretary for Agriculture Affairs and Animal Wealth at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.

He pointed out that the market has seen a high level of attendance from locals and citizens, which is indicative of their increasing trust in domestic agricultural products and their contribution to the local agricultural industry.
The undersecretary clarified that the market is hosted at the Budaiya Botanical Garden in collaboration with Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), stc Bahrain, and the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD). Up until February 14, 2026, Bahraini farmers, regional companies, and craftspeople visit it every Saturday.
The current season, he continued, features sections for artisans, productive families, restaurants, cafés, nurseries, and apiaries in addition to 33 local farmers.
According to the undersecretary, the market has seen a significant increase in demand over the last six weeks for locally produced agricultural goods, especially vegetables, highlighting consumer confidence in domestic produce and the market’s role in directly promoting and supporting local agricultural output during the current season.
