Dec. 9, Manama (BNA): Senior representatives from GCC nations taking part in the Bahrain International Show were welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa (Mara’ee 2025).

Her Royal Highness Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Executive Director of the International Date Council; Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs; Dr. Saud bin Humood Al Habsi, Minister of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Water Resources of the Sultanate of Oman; and senior representatives from GCC nations in the areas of municipal, plant, animal, and food diversity were in attendance.
In accordance with the common developmental goals of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the peoples of the region, the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening GCC integration in food security under the direction of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah, there is currently a lot of momentum in the GCC countries’ cooperation and coordination to create a more capable and sustainable regional food system that is built on innovation, effective resource management, and the growth of interregional and international partnerships.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted Bahrain’s efforts to increase agricultural and livestock production and support the food security system at both the national and GCC levels, praising the officials’ role in Mara’ee, which is regarded as one of the Kingdom’s pioneering national initiatives.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah emphasized the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture’s efforts to organize the show in a way that reflects Bahrain’s dedication to strengthening public-private partnerships in the livestock and agricultural sectors and supporting initiatives that encourage investment. He wished everyone engaged well and emphasized the significance of fostering an atmosphere that encourages information sharing, opening up new avenues for contributions targeted at diversifying production sources and enhancing the effectiveness of food supply chains.
The officials wished the Kingdom ongoing growth and prosperity and praised Bahrain‘s support for programs that improve GCC food security, its focus on the development of agriculture and livestock in the region, and its efforts to promote collaboration.
