Interior Minister: 30% decline in crime rate; community partnership reinforces national belonging
He expressed delight in the high morale of the Bahraini people and added that the Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved security, stability, and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He pointed out that His Majesty has made sure that the reform project’s initiatives and programs, which are based on social cohesiveness and a strong sense of national identity, continue to satisfy society’s demands in all situations. According to him, this helped create a stable present and a bright future by directing the Kingdom’s contemporary national development with an ambitious political vision.
In a nation famed for tolerance and deeply held national values, he continued, “the royal vision and approach represent an extension of generations of sound leadership, underpinned by a historical and civilizational legacy passed down through generations.” He stated that these foundations are founded on fundamental ideas, such as unity, cohesion, and solidarity, and that enhancing national belonging goes beyond following customs to include genuine national commitment based on love for the country, allegiance to His Majesty the King’s leadership, defense of the social fabric, and preservation of national accomplishments, all of which contribute to a stronger sense of national identity and community security.
He affirmed that, within a framework of community partnership based on cooperation, belonging, and a shared sense of responsibility, citizens continue to be the driving force behind achievements under the government’s approach and persistent efforts led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Serving the Kingdom continues to be an honor and a common goal, according to the Minister of Interior, who added that community partnership has become both a concrete reality and a practice ingrained in Bahrain’s social culture. Tens of thousands of people participated in the national volunteering platform, he said, demonstrating a sense of pride and proving that unified societies are better able to handle problems. In a culture known for tolerance and cohabitation, he continued, the National Plan to Promote National Belonging and Reinforce Citizenship Values strengthens national unity through its activities.
In addition to praising Bahrain Police officers of all ranks and highlighting a 30% drop in crime, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah also praised the contribution of community policing to bolstering public safety. Additionally, he praised the “Ma’an” (Together) program team’s efforts to prevent harmful behaviors, such as addiction and violence, and to raise awareness.
