Manama, February 10 (BNA): Asim Abdullatif Abdulla, Undersecretary of Agriculture and Animal Wealth Affairs, accompanied Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak on a visit to the Dar Aqua Aquaponic Farm. The chairman of the board of directors, Ahmed Abdulkareem Bucheeri, welcomed them to assess the project’s use of contemporary agricultural technologies and work progress.

The minister emphasized throughout the visit that cutting-edge agricultural initiatives are essential to promoting food security and strengthening Bahrain’s agriculture sector’s sustainability. He praised Dar Aqua for implementing cutting-edge technologies and creative solutions that boost production effectiveness, optimize resource usage, and complement the ministry’s development ambitions.

He also praised the utilization of cutting-edge production standards and technologies while touring the farm’s many areas and examining items cultivated both traditionally and in greenhouses.

In accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, he emphasized that the development of the agricultural sector supports the overall development process headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in order to guarantee sustainable agricultural production and improve food security. Additionally, he emphasized the powerful backing offered by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of HM the King and Chairperson of the National Initiative for the Development of the Agricultural Sector (NIAD) Advisory Council, pointing out the organization’s contribution to the advancement of agricultural projects and national food security objectives.

According to Ahmed Bucheeri, the ministry’s backing of cutting-edge agricultural initiatives promotes the growth of Bahrain’s sustainable agricultural output.

Dar Aqua, which covers more than 40,000 square meters of protected farmland, is one of Bahrain’s most sophisticated agricultural initiatives. Utilizing hydroponic systems, solar energy, and integrated production, packaging, and processing lines in accordance with contemporary operational standards, it is the biggest aquaponics project in the Middle East.
