September 30, Manama (BNA): The Customs Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Customs and Monopolies Agency of the Italian Republic signed a joint declaration during the official visit of Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to Italy.

The President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, emphasized Bahrain’s dedication to enhancing international collaboration and knowledge sharing in the customs sector, fostering the ongoing growth of customs and logistics activities, and solidifying the Kingdom’s standing as a major regional center for trade and logistics services. Under the direction of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of the Interior, he praised the government’s support for customs work, which is led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This support strengthens the country’s role in the economy.

According to the Customs President, the agreement intends to expand programs for qualified economic operators, encourage the use of contemporary technology and artificial intelligence, and improve customs risk systems. This program will promote the logistics industry, boost trade volume, and improve monitoring to shield commercial supply chains from unethical behavior.
