Manama, Jan. 24 (BNA): A Bahraini-Chinese implementation agreement concerning aquaculture, fish farming, and fisheries in the Kingdom was signed by the Supreme Council for Environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.

The agreement is a component of the fifth phase of the technical cooperation program between the two nations in this area, which aims to improve collaboration in the areas of sustainable development, food security, and the environment.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and Minister of Oil and Environment. Ni Ruchi, the People’s Republic of China’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, attended the event and presented the document that Wang Wentao, the country’s minister of commerce, had signed.
According to Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak, the agreement demonstrates the strength of ties and strategic collaboration between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the People’s Republic of China and supports national initiatives to improve food security and enhance fishery resources.
In support of initiatives to safeguard natural resources and promote sustainable development, he stated that the project intends to develop Bahrain’s aquaculture industry through an integrated facility utilizing cutting-edge technologies, supporting technology transfer, national capacity building, and environmental sustainability.
The Chinese ambassador emphasized China’s interest in supporting the project through implementation and the deployment of technical skills and cutting-edge technology, and stated that the agreement represents an advanced stage of bilateral relationship in aquaculture.
