Nov. 6, Manama (BNA): The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology (NCST) and CREST, a global non-profit certifying body with a focus on cybersecurity with headquarters in the UK, have inked a collaboration agreement.

During a ceremony on the fringes of the Arab International Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition (AICS 2025), Sebastian Madden, Chief Product Officer of CREST, and Dr. Abdulla bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of the NCST, signed the agreement.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is hosting the conference, which brings together professionals, specialists, and decision-makers in cybersecurity and digital transformation under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The partnership makes the NCST a regional supplier of CREST’s globally recognized training programs, which are designed to improve cybersecurity capabilities for both individuals and organizations. The program will assist build competent national talent capable of meeting the demands of the rapidly changing digital landscape, benefiting both students and professionals in the technology sector. Additionally, it supports Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 goals for a secure and long-lasting digital transformation as well as the National Cybersecurity Strategy.

According to Dr. Al Nuaimi, the relationship is a reflection of the center’s efforts to collaborate with top international organizations in the development of digital skills and to enhance international cooperation in technical education and training. He pointed out that the NCST aims to create an ecosystem of integrated education and training that is in line with global norms while satisfying the demands of the local and regional labor market in the areas of cybersecurity and digital protection.

Sebastian Madden conveyed his gratitude for the collaboration, stating that CREST is eager to collaborate with the NCST, one of the top technical education institutions in the area, to promote cybersecurity education and training in Bahrain. “The partnership will help prepare a new generation of professionals in this crucial field,” he continued.

In addition to improving the Kingdom of Bahrain’s standing as a regional center for nurturing national talent and bolstering cybersecurity knowledge, the arrangement is another step in the NCST’s attempts to broaden its international relationships in science and technology.
