Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, national cyber drill “Cyber Shield 2025” kicks off

As part of Bahrain’s continuous efforts to fortify cyber defenses and improve preparedness to face new threats, the exercise unites government agencies, important sectors, and commercial organizations.

In order to assess the readiness of participating institutions and the efficiency of coordination systems, the National Cybersecurity Center organized a simulation that mimics an advanced cyberattack scenario from August 26 to August 31. Additionally, it seeks to advance best practices in cyber crisis management, improve defensive strategies, and build technical skills.

“The exercise is a cornerstone of Bahrain’s cybersecurity strategy, helping to build national expertise, raise awareness across government and vital sectors, and reinforce joint institutional efforts to confront evolving digital risks,” said Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). He pointed out that the fact that over 560 people are participating from the fields of government, security, health, banking, transportation, communications, energy, industry, and education shows how important cyber resilience is becoming.

In keeping with the leadership’s goal to protect the Kingdom’s digital environment and guarantee that national teams are prepared to respond to cyber incidents, the CEO went on to say that Cyber Shield 2025 is a strategic step towards solidifying Bahrain‘s cybersecurity framework.
