September 15, Manama (BNA): The first cohort of the National Programme for Cyber Awareness Specialists was introduced by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), with significant involvement from important sectors and government agencies. Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, the NCSC’s Deputy Chief Executive, was present at the event.
First cohort of national cyber awareness specialists’ programme launched
The program, which aims to prepare certified specialists in the field of cyber awareness, is the first complete national effort in the Kingdom of Bahrain, according to Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed. According to him, it will help Bahrain’s national cyber maturity grow while empowering participants to create and carry out long-lasting institutional programs. In keeping with the Kingdom’s strategic goals to preserve its leading position in the ITU Global Cybersecurity Index, he continued, the effort also helps to improve collaboration between the Center and pertinent authorities.
He emphasized that in order to guarantee coordinated efforts, quantifiable results, and advanced institutional maturity at the national level, the Center is essential in helping government agencies and sectors promote safe digital practices, create national policies, standards, and frameworks, and supervise their implementation.
Undersecretaries, assistant undersecretaries, officials, and training program participants attended the opening ceremony. Participating are 75 experts from 55 organizations in key industries, each of whom is responsible for spearheading awareness campaigns within their respective organizations. Ali Beshara, a cybersecurity consultant and trainer, will provide the training and give participants the tools they need to create successful awareness campaigns.
Presentations detailing the program’s goals, implementation strategy, and regulatory framework were also included in the ceremony. These presentations emphasized the program’s strategic significance in assisting decision-makers and leadership in embracing institutional initiatives that enhance cyber awareness.
