The MoU is a calculated move to increase healthcare collaboration, take use of top Japanese medical schools’ cutting-edge medical knowledge, and raise the standard of healthcare services to meet the highest international standards.

In the presence of Ahmed Mohammed Al Doseri, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Japan, the memorandum was signed by Brigadier Doctor Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the RMS and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Overseas Treatment, along with the accompanying delegation, during the official visit to Japan.

The agreement demonstrates the close ties between Bahrain and Japan as well as their shared dedication to enhancing institutional collaboration and creating frameworks for partnerships in the health sector.

Through the implementation of specialized training and academic programs to develop medical, nursing, and technical competencies; exchange of visits and scientific expertise; cooperation in medical research and scientific development; and the organization of specialized medical conferences and events, the Memorandum of Understanding seeks to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two parties in a number of important medical fields. In the healthcare industry, these collaborative sectors foster innovation and long-term growth.

Brigadier Doctor Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa confirmed that the RMS’s dedication to enhancing its institutional presence both regionally and globally is reflected in the signing of the pact, which is a significant milestone in the development of its foreign partnerships.

The agreement, he said, reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the follow-up of Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the BDF, and the backing of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister.

He went on to say that collaboration with well-known Japanese medical schools opens doors for the development of technical and human resources as well as the sharing of information and skills. The quality of healthcare services offered is positively impacted, and it also promotes sustainable development initiatives and strengthens coordination systems in international treatment programs in accordance with best international practices and standards.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, according to Ambassador Al Doseri, represents the Kingdom of Bahrain and Japan’s extensive historical ties as well as the ongoing growth of their strategic alliance.
