Nov. 8, Manama (BNA): As part of the seventh Nasser bin Hamad Marine Heritage Season, the “Young Mawrooth Swimmer” open-water junior swimming competition came to an end on Friday close to the Bahrain National Museum.

The competition, which attracted about 80 swimmers from all over the Kingdom, including a number of foreigners, produced impressive results in two age groups.

Timur Nouruddin, a Ukrainian swimmer, took first position in the 12–15 age group (400 meters) with a timing of 4:49.73 minutes, followed by Jassim Mohammed Harban (4:53.16) and Hussain Adel Al Banna (4:56.17).

Adam Hussain Mohamed won the 600-meter race for the 16–17 age group in 7:29.35 minutes, ahead of Issa Khalid Abdulaziz (7:40.68) and Abdulrahman Mustafa Al Khaja (7:53.09).

In order to guarantee the highest safety standards, the Coast Guard, Civil Defence, Royal Medical Services, and marine rescue teams oversaw the race, which was conducted under perfect conditions, according to the organizers.

The event is a part of the Nasser bin Hamad Marine Heritage Season, which aims to encourage young people to participate in marine activities in a safe, structured setting that honors Bahrain’s rich nautical history.
