November 13, Riyadh (BNA): At the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh today, Bahrain won two bronze medals, increasing its total to 12—five gold, three silver, and four bronze. Athletes from 57 nations compete in the event.

The national volleyball team won the inaugural bronze after defeating Qatar 3-1 in the Boulevard Arena third-place match. Bahrain finished with 95 points compared to Qatar’s 84 in the set scores of 25–18, 20–25, 25–21, and 25–20. With 19 points, captain Nasser Annan topped the squad.
Rashid Sanad and Kinda Mohammed, a mixed doubles team that advanced to the semifinals before falling to Bangladesh in a hard battle, took home the second bronze in table tennis.
These findings demonstrate Bahrain’s athletes’ robust involvement in both individual and team competitions, which is bolstered by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s endeavors to create a setting that permits competitive performance on a global scale.
The national handball team will play Kuwait at the Green Hall tomorrow, Friday, to kick off their campaign. They want to have a good start to the competition.
Bahrain will also compete in the duathlon on Friday; athlete Roya Al Saati is scheduled to compete in the women’s sprint event.
On the margins of the Games, Bahrain earned another accomplishment when esports competitor Sayed Hashim Ahmed took home the silver medal in Tekken 8. The athlete was commended on his success by Bahrain’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, who was present at the medal ceremony.
Mayoof Al Rumaihi and Hussain Mohammed finished the second qualification in show jumping at Al Janadriyah, finishing 20th and 24th, respectively.
In the upcoming days, Bahrain’s competitors will continue to compete in a number of disciplines, with more medal opportunities anticipated, especially in athletics. The Games will conclude on November 21.
