October 8, Manama (BNA): The chairman and members of the Games’ Executive Committee were received by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the 3rd Asian Youth Games.

Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the BOC, Yousef Daeij, Chairman of the Executive Committee, Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the GSA, and His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, attended the meeting.
Under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain will host the Games from October 22 to October 31. His Highness’ visit was a follow-up on the last preparations for the Games.
His Highness received a briefing on the most recent reports and updates from the Executive Committee. In addition to outlining the preparedness of the sporting facilities, lodging, and transportation, Committee Chairman Daeij also described the plans for security, media, protocol, and awards.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad expressed gratitude for the Executive Committee’s and working teams’ commitment and cooperation, praising their hard work. He pointed out that the Olympic Council of Asia’s recognition, which Bahrain has gained in the short time since hosting rights were granted, shows excellent coordination between public and commercial organizations and solidifies Bahrain‘s position as a top regional sports destination.
“The royal patronage of this continental sporting event places a great responsibility on us and motivates us to double our efforts to deliver an exceptional edition worthy of Bahrain’s name,” His Royal Highness stated. “We take pride in the progress achieved so far and count on the determination of our youth and the competence of our teams to ensure the success of this milestone event, held for the first time in the Kingdom.”
“By creating a lasting sporting legacy that benefits future generations, the Games represent a historic opportunity to showcase Bahrain’s organizational capabilities and commitment to promoting sports in society,” His Highness continued. “I hope the Games will be a platform to inspire young athletes and develop future Olympians throughout Asia,” he said.
