October 11, Manama (BNA): An thrilling start to the new season was made at the Bahrain International Circuit with the conclusion of the first race of the FIA-certified Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship.
Saudi drivers shine as Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship opens in Bahrain
The event, which was organized by Al Tawkilat Motorsport under the auspices of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), demonstrated the increasing popularity of this entry-level motorsport category with its fierce competition, excellent technical requirements, and robust spectator turnout.
The Bahrain International Circuit honored the top performers with an award ceremony. British driver Kit Belofsky (PEAX) received the first place trophy from the Bahrain International Circuit’s chief executive, His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa. Raad Abduljawad, Chairman of Saudi Diesel, presented third place to Emirati driver Theo Palmer (JACO), while Sherif Al Mahdy, Chief Commercial Officer of BIC, gave second place to Dutch driver Nina Gademan (CARAAGY).
Elsa Cammilleri, the Sporting Coordinator for the Single Seater Junior Categories, gave Kit Belofsky (PEAX) the Best Rookie trophy, while Saudi karter Leen Alarifi presented Nina Gademan (CARAAGY) with the Best Female Driver Award.
A mid-race safety car period that rearranged the order prior to the final laps was one of the many fierce clashes that took place during the race. Abdullah Kamel (ASTOP), a Saudi driver, came in fourth place with a solid effort, almost missing the podium. His and the other Saudi competitors’ performances demonstrated the consistent ascent of Saudi drivers in both regional and global motorsport.
The starting grid was decided by qualifying sessions earlier in the day, with Kit Belofsky (PEAX) in third place, Scott Kin Lindblom (Red Bull) in second, and Theo Palmer (JACO) in first. Nina Gademan (CARAAGY) and Thibaut Ramaekers (Zahid) rounded out the top five.
The Bahrain International Circuit will host the second race of the first round tomorrow. Round 2 of the championship will follow on October 15–16 at the same location.
