September 24, Manama (BNA): In honor of World Tourism Day, which is being commemorated this year with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has announced that it would conduct a tour on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 3 PM.
BTEA organises sustainable tour to mark World Tourism Day 2025
The tour is organized in collaboration with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, and the Executive Office of the National Plan to Reinforce the Values of Citizenship and Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation (Bahrainouna).
Beginning from the Bahrain National Museum, the tour will take participants to some of the most notable historical and cultural sites in the Kingdom, such as Bab Al Bahrain and the Kanoo Museum, giving them a chance to learn more about Manama’s past. Additionally, it will include a visit to the Al Jasra Handicrafts Center to learn about Bahraini craftsmen’ inventiveness.
A tour of the Bahrain National Museum galleries, which highlight the Kingdom’s rich history and cultural identity, will round up the program.
Using contemporary public transportation buses as the primary mode of transportation, the project is the first collaborative tourism endeavor aimed at promoting sustainable tourism. This stage emphasizes how Bahrain’s public transportation system may be used to lower carbon emissions and raise environmental awareness while providing tourists with a genuine cultural experience that blends sustainability with heritage.
Participants will be accompanied by a team of Bahraini tour guides who will give them comprehensive knowledge on the historical and cultural landmarks of the Kingdom.
The Platinumlist platform (www.platinumlist.net) requires previous registration in order to participate in the free tour. After every seat is occupied, registration will close.
September 27 has been declared World Tourism Day by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to highlight the value of tourism as a means of fostering intercultural understanding and sustainable development.
The day is observed in Bahrain in accordance with the objectives of the country’s Economic Vision 2030 and the Tourism Sector Strategy 2022–2026.
