Dec. 5, Manama (BNA): Under the sponsorship of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, attended the West Asia Clubs Table Tennis Championship closing ceremony at the Isa bin Rashid Table Tennis Arena.

After Bahrain Club defeated Kuwait’s Al Fatat Club 3-1 in the final, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali was proclaimed the women’s competition champion. After Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad Club defeated Qatar SC 3-1, he also gave them the men’s title.
His Highness praised the women’s team of Bahrain Club for their performance, pointing out that their outcomes showed consistency throughout the competition.
He acknowledged the high caliber of play throughout the competition and stated that it gave West Asian clubs a significant platform.
His Highness emphasized the efforts of clubs and federations to support athletes and acknowledged the ongoing growth of table tennis in the area. He wished the other teams well in upcoming competitions and praised the victorious teams.
He continued by saying that holding these competitions promotes broader initiatives to develop individual sports and strengthens athletic ties between groups. His Highness recognized the efforts of the host club, Bahrain Club, and the Bahrain Table Tennis Association and emphasized the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s dedication to projects that promote table tennis at both the local and regional levels.
