Astana, October 15 (BNA): In honor of its accomplishments in player development and tournament organization, the Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) was presented with two honors by the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

The BTF was also the recipient of the ATF Award for the best federation in West Asia for player development, tournament hosting, and organization, as well as the ITF Award for best federation in these areas.

At a ceremony on the fringes of the ATF Annual General Meeting in Kazakhstan, BTF President Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa accepted the honors from ITF Vice President Bulat Utemuratov and ATF President Yuriy Polsky.

According to Shaikh Abdulaziz, the honors demonstrate Bahraini tennis’s advancement and the federation’s international recognition of its promotion efforts. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) were all credited with helping to achieve the success, he said.

He pointed out that by holding significant international contests and putting in place initiatives to foster local talent and increase participation in regional and international events, the federation has solidified its standing.
