Information Ministry Undersecretary unveils media plan for Asian Youth Games Bahrain 2025
Through the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, President of the General Authority for Sport, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, he said, Bahrain’s sports industry has experienced tremendous growth on a regional and global level. He claimed that as a result of their efforts, Bahrain is now one of the top countries in winning championships and organizing regional and global events.
The Undersecretary went on to say that the Ministry has created a thorough media plan for the Games’ coverage, following instructions from HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad and with assistance from Minister of Information Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi. The plan is intended to highlight Bahrain’s track record of hosting important events and to demonstrate the professionalism and know-how of Bahraini media representatives.
More than 30 sports and more than 55 competitions and events, including the opening and closing ceremonies, will have complete television coverage, including reporting, documentation, and live broadcasts. The International Broadcasting Centre (IBC), which will act as the central location for worldwide distribution, will oversee coverage. In order to guarantee seamless operations for broadcasts to channels and digital platforms, the IBC will have studios, control rooms, sophisticated infrastructure with servers, fiber networks, satellites, and cloud systems, as well as a newsroom, workspaces for media teams, and a coordination center.
Furthermore, the Ministry has devised a digital media strategy that includes daily multimedia content and live streaming of the major games on digital platforms. Every day, there will be about 40 social media updates and 40 stories that cover the schedules, results, highlights, award ceremonies, interviews, and fan moments of the competition. A dedicated group of account managers, translators, and content producers will also create a daily video that highlights the highlights of the Games.
Albinkhalil stated that coverage will be distributed through regional and international sports channels to reach a broader audience. He said that in order to target youthful audiences both domestically and abroad, the Ministry has teamed up with TikTok as the Games‘ digital partner to offer interactive and live programming that follows contemporary digital media trends.
He added that in conjunction with the Games, the Ministry will hold a cultural event called “Bahraini Night” at Ras Hayan Heritage Village. Through traditional performances, handicrafts, a traditional-dress picture corner, and an interactive exhibition on Bahraini identity and legacy, the event will highlight Bahrain’s culture.
Albinkhalil emphasized that in order to provide professional and varied coverage that places viewers at the center of the Games and enhances Bahrain’s reputation internationally, the Ministry is mobilizing all of its technical and human resources.
