Manama, Oct. 19 (BNA): Bahrain took part in the second Asian Tennis Federation Junior Championship, showcasing the sport’s recent advancement and notable growth in the Kingdom with an exceptional performance and first place in every competition category.

Ahmed Al Sayed defeated his brother Talal Al Sayed in the final in straight sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-4, earning him the title of champion in the boys’ singles competition for the second week in a row.

In the final, Ahmed Al Sayed defeated Saudi player Ahmed Sarouji to keep the title he had won the week before.

Talal Al Sayed also put on a great show during the competition, defeating a number of talented players from Saudi Arabia and other Asian nations in the preliminary stages to advance to the championship match.

Salma Farajallah, a Bahraini player, defeated Saudi player Fatima Al Baajari, who again took second place, to successfully defend her championship in the girls’ singles competition for the second week in a row.

In the final, Farajallah defeated Al Baajri with set scores of 6–3 and 6–4.

With a final score of 6–2, 6–2, the Bahraini team of Hashem Al Toublani and Abdulrahman Al Doseri defeated the Saudi player Mohammed Al Yami and the Indian player Parth Sani to win the doubles title.

The winners of all three tournament categories were presented with awards by Bahrain Tennis Federation President Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa at the end of the event.

According to Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, these successes validate that the Federation’s development plans for younger players are proceeding according to schedule and speak well of its efforts. He emphasized how crucial it is to have a solid foundation of up-and-coming talent in order to propel future triumphs and respectable outcomes for the sport.

Additionally, he praised the Bahraini players’ commitment, discipline, and collaboration during the competition and reaffirmed the Federation’s resolve to keep up its efforts to foster player development and create an atmosphere that fosters success.
