October 23, Manama (BNA): Education Minister Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma congratulated Ahlia Private School student Mohammed Jassim Mubarak on his second-place finish in the ninth Arab Reading Challenge. More than 32 million students from 50 nations participated in the tournament at different phases.

The Minister confirmed that this accomplishment, which was made public at the closing ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Centre in front of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Ruler of Dubai, shows how far educational institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain have come in fostering reading and other Arabic language proficiency.
After winning first place at the national level in Bahrain, Mohammed Jassim Mubarak advanced to the competition’s final round among all competing nations. He was chosen from among more than 137,000 pupils from public and private schools throughout the Kingdom who participated in this important worldwide reading campaign run by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation.
