Dec. 18, Manama (BNA): The qualifying rounds of the Ghufran, Bayan, and Ajran competitions finished as part of the 30th Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prize, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments collaborated with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs to organize the competitions.

According to Issa Sami Al Mannai, Undersecretary of Justice and Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, the royal patronage has played a significant role in the prize’s ongoing development and growth among the society.
With a total of 5,033 male and female contestants, comprising 1,841 males and 3,192 females, he observed that this year’s edition had strong participation across all categories, indicating noteworthy female participation.
According to Al Mannai, there were 100 competitors in the Ghufran contest—83 men and 17 women—while there were 189 competitors in the school-student-focused Bayan contest—97 men and 92 women. 82 contestants—43 men and 39 women—participated in the Ajran competition, which is intended for those with modest intellectual disability.
