Nov. 16, Manama (BNA): Bahrain ranked tenth in the first category (under 16 years) of the FIAP Youth Biennial for Photography, which was organized by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) with entries from 18 countries. This is a new accomplishment that adds to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s artistic and cultural record.

The achievement coincides with the Kingdom’s inaugural hosting of this major festival, highlighting Bahrain’s dedication to fostering young talent and encouraging creativity in the visual arts and solidifying its developing reputation as a promising regional hub for photography.
The president of the Bahrain Arts Society, Shaikha Marwa bint Rashid Al Khalifa, expressed delight in the outcome, calling it a testimonial to the caliber of the new generation of Bahraini photographers and a significant step in strengthening the Kingdom’s position on the global artistic map.
She praised the kids’ inventiveness and thanked the Ministry of Education for helping young talents take part in this motivating global experience.
Shaikha Marwa bint Rashid also thanked Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Society’s Honorary President, for his unwavering support of Bahrain‘s arts, stressing that such support is still crucial to assisting local talent in achieving international platforms of excellence.
She emphasized how the National Arts Council, led by Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa, plays a crucial role in advancing artistic culture and supporting a variety of art forms through programs that raise Bahraini artists’ profile both domestically and abroad and present the Kingdom as a creative and sophisticated artistic expression hub.
According to Shaikha Marwa bint Rashid, Bahrain will host the FIAP Youth Biennial’s final exhibition in December. It will showcase the winning and chosen pieces from participating nations, giving both domestic and foreign viewers a rare chance to learn about the visions and photographic inventiveness of young people from various cultural backgrounds who are brought together by common artistic goals.
Leading young talent from all over the world participated in the tournament, and the Sultanate of Oman won first place in the first category, followed by the Russian Federation in second and South Africa in third. Oman took first place once more in the second category, with South Africa and the US coming in second and third, respectively.
