October 25, Manama (BNA): The International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) awarded the Gold Badge of Honour to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Commander of the Royal Endurance Team, Honorary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, and Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs. This was in recognition of His Highness’s remarkable efforts to promote and develop equestrian sports on a regional and global scale, as well as his accomplishments during his participation in world championships since his first appearance in Germany in 2006.

It occurred during His Highness’s reception of Ingmar de Vos, President of the FEI, in front of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation; Sultan Mohammed Al Yahyai, President of the International Equestrian Federation’s Regional Group 7; Faris Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for the Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club’s High Committee, Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, were also in attendance.
According to Article 132.2 of its General Regulations, which are based on tracking the cumulative accomplishments and international participations of riders and equestrian leaders worldwide, the FEI granted His Highness the Gold Badge of Honour.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have provided Bahraini equestrian sports with unwavering support, which has allowed them to achieve a distinguished position. His Highness thanked the FEI for the badge.
Based on His Highness’s outstanding record since his debut at the World Endurance Championships in Germany in 2006, which launched his illustrious career in international equestrian competition, and his outstanding achievements that elevated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s profile internationally, the FEI awarded him the Gold Badge of Honour.
The President of FEI, for his part, thanked His Highness for his pioneering contribution in the growth of equestrian sports, particularly endurance sports, which have become a model for the Arab world to follow.
