September 20, Manama (BNA): “His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision has established peace as a consistent principle and a foundation for future generations,” stressed Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam. In order to create a more secure and stable future for everybody, he pointed out that this strategy supports worldwide efforts to find comprehensive and long-lasting solutions to regional and global issues.

Speaker: Royal approach made peace a firm path and foundation for future generations

He emphasized the points made in HM the King’s speech at the Extraordinary Arab Islamic Summit in Doha, which emphasized the need of respecting human dignity, freedom, and the right to a decent life as well as the ideals of tolerance, fraternity, and cohabitation.

In order to strengthen the foundations of a fair and sustainable peace, the Speaker expressed pride in the government’s policies and the Royal Vision, which are headed by Prime Minister and Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. These policies support international cooperation, diplomacy, and mediation. He added that Bahrain had welcomed the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of the “New York Declaration” calling for the two-state solution and a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian problem.

Speaking on the occasion of the International Day of Peace, which is celebrated on September 21 every year with the theme “Act Now for a Peaceful World” for 2025, Al Musallam stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain continuously promotes tolerance, coexistence, and peace. He continued by saying that the Kingdom opposes violence and prejudice and is in favor of resolving conflicts amicably via communication and understanding.

He reaffirmed HM the King’s demand for an international treaty that would criminalize hate speech that is racist, religious, or sectarian and that would stop the abuse of digital platforms and the media to spread extremism, fanaticism, and terrorism.

The Speaker praised Bahrain’s international efforts to foster a culture of peace, citing the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance’s programs, the Royal Humanitarian Foundation’s relief and development projects, and international awards for coexistence and humanitarian service. He claimed that these initiatives are a reflection of Bahrain’s national ideals, diplomatic strategy, and the tenets of the Bahrain Declaration.

The role of parliamentary organizations and unions to support peace, sustainable development, international security, and the advancement of human rights in all spheres is being activated by Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy, which continues to strengthen collaboration with regional and international parliaments, according to Al Musallam.
