October 18, Geneva (BNA): Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, met with Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Parliamentary Division’s Executive Committee, in Geneva. Aside from the 151st Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, the meeting took place.
Speaker meets with Arab Parliament Speaker in Geneva
In support of common interests and unified Arab viewpoints in international fora, Speaker Al Musallam emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain’s dedication to bolstering partnerships, promoting collaboration and coordination among Arab parliaments and councils, and supporting Arab parliamentary activity.
He pointed out that His Majesty King Hassan bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision and directives, as well as the ongoing oversight of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hassan Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, are reflected in Bahrain’s unwavering commitment to supporting Arab causes and helping parliaments advance development and progress in Arab nations.
The Speaker praised the Arab Parliament’s leadership in promoting and protecting Arab causes on both a regional and global scale. He highlighted its initiatives to create parliamentary visions that strengthen procedures for collaborative parliamentary work and raise the effectiveness of Arab legislative councils and parliaments.
In acknowledgment of the parliamentary role in furthering sustainable development and encouraging collaboration and solidarity among Arab nations, he emphasized the Kingdom’s determination to keep supporting Arab initiatives to harmonize parliamentary viewpoints and share legislative experience. He went on to say that Bahrain‘s parliamentary diplomacy is based on strong ideals that promote parliamentary cooperation and ongoing growth.
Al Yamahi, on his part, conveyed gratitude for Bahrain’s stances in promoting Arab parliamentary efforts and defending the stability and security of the Arab world. He praised the Kingdom’s Parliamentary Division’s proactive efforts and called it an example of successful Arab collaboration.
Speaker Al Musallam’s dedication to improving Arab parliamentary relations was also praised by the speaker of the Arab Parliament, who emphasized that Bahrain is an important ally in bolstering and expanding the Arab Parliament’s function and visibility in global parliamentary fora.
First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives Abdulnabi Salman, Shura Council member Dalal Jassim Al Zayed, Dr. Bassam Ismail Al Binmohammed, Maryam Saleh Al Dhaen, Council of Representatives Secretary-General Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, and Shura Council Secretary General Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi were present at the meeting.
