Nov. 3, Manama (BNA): In order to support cancer patients and improve the medical and humanitarian care system, the Royal Medical Services (RMS) – Bahrain Oncology Center inked a cooperation framework agreement with the Zakat and Charity Fund of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Waqf. The program is a component of coordinated national initiatives to strengthen ties between public institutions and the community and foster social cohesion.

The collaboration is a reflection of a common goal to increase healthcare and humanitarian endeavors that benefit patients and assist the center’s research, treatment, and rehabilitation projects. It will further the center’s goal of offering top-notch cancer care services and improve its medical and technical skills.
According to the agreement, the Zakat and Charity Fund will support qualified patients by allocating Zakat funds in line with Islamic principles, and donations and public contributions will assist in funding the development of diagnostic and therapeutic services as well as the purchase of cutting-edge medical equipment. In order to ensure long-term support and increased community involvement, the agreement involves the introduction of an online donation platform that makes it simple and safe for people and organizations to support the center’s health and research initiatives.
The collaboration was praised by Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, who stated that it embodies Bahrain’s institutional cooperation culture. He pointed out that it fosters principles of generosity and social responsibility while strengthening the healthcare industry’s efforts to help and care for those in need.
The Commander of RMS, Brigadier General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, thanked the Zakat and Charity Fund for this innovative project. According to him, the collaboration is an important step toward bolstering the Bahrain Oncology Center’s efforts to provide cutting-edge, all-encompassing healthcare in accordance with Bahrain‘s vision of a premier, integrated health system that prioritizes patients and their needs.
