September 13, Manama (BNA): The meeting was presided over by Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the chairman of the Anti-Violence and Addiction Committee and the undersecretary of the Interior Ministry for Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs.

He applauded efforts to offer a safe educational environment that guarantees the success of the learning process and congratulated members on the beginning of the new academic year.
In addition to reviewing the results of the second semester of 2024–2025, including field engagement and outcomes, Ali Ahmed Amini, Director of the “Maan” (Together) program, also presented the strategy for the first semester of 2025–2026. To inculcate good values of belonging and increase awareness of bad behaviors, the strategy includes interactive lectures, seminars, exhibitions, awareness curriculum, and contemporary educational methodologies.
The committee talked about new traffic safety and civil defense curricula as well as the Child Protection Center’s Awareness and Study Preparation Programme (WAED), which aims to safeguard children, promote character development, and increase awareness.
Shaikh Hisham emphasized how crucial it is to keep working with academic institutions to prepare studies and research on security-related topics, offering precise data and quantifiable indicators to promote sustainable solutions and preventive planning.
He emphasised the importance of promoting appropriate strategies to mitigate the risks associated with online gaming platforms, including raising parental and student awareness, promoting the use of parental control tools, creating safe-use awareness programmes, and holding workshops for educators to address behaviours associated with protracted gaming.
The Maan Security Awareness Exhibition, which gives visitors a hands-on, experiential understanding of dangers, was also examined at the meeting. It was recognized as a useful instrument for enhancing preventative culture, encouraging legal compliance, and increasing awareness of harmful behaviors in order to create a responsible society.
In order to achieve long-term results that promote a safe and healthy society, the committee wrapped up by talking about future plans to expand the Maan program, deepen collaborations with official and community groups, improve its performance, and fit with changing community requirements.
