Manama, Jan. 19 (BNA): As part of its continuous efforts to promote economic activity and the commercial sector, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce held an appreciation event to honor participants in the fourth edition of the National Promotional Initiative for the Commercial Sector. Commercial sector representatives were acknowledged for their successful contributions to the initiative’s success.

Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro emphasized that the program helped customers by offering a greater variety of deals and discounts during the Celebrate Bahrain season, all within a transparent and unambiguous framework that upholds consumer rights and boosts trust in the local market. He pointed out that the program demonstrates a successful collaboration between the public and private sectors, boosting economic activity, enhancing visitor and customer experiences, and promoting market stability.
He continued by saying that the program has grown into a significant yearly platform that supports Bahrain’s goal of a transparent and competitive economy and enhances the Kingdom’s standing as a top travel destination throughout the holiday season.
The program, which was started by the Ministry through the Consumer Protection Directorate, attempts to prolong discount periods and waive promotional campaign fees. 2,080 licenses for promotional campaigns were awarded this year, an increase of more than 72% from 2024, demonstrating the initiative’s beneficial effects on the commercial sector and market dynamism.
