NIAD announces launch of 6th King Hamad Award for Agricultural Development
In keeping with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, the award seeks to promote agricultural projects, farmers, and academics while fostering innovation for the sustainability of agricultural production. Additionally, it acts as a competitive platform to highlight exceptional agricultural initiatives, notable farmers, and the most recent agricultural studies and research. It helps the Kingdom’s green economy, protect natural resources, and achieve food security.
The sixth edition is divided into three main categories: Best Agricultural Project, which recognizes innovative projects in agribusiness, agricultural production, services, and technologies; Best Bahraini Farmer, which honors exceptional farmers’ efforts; and Best Agricultural Studies and Research, which promotes scientific innovation in smart agriculture, resource conservation, and improving food and water security.
The winners will get certificates of recognition, a commemorative shield, and cash rewards worth up to BD 10,000. In addition to showcasing their initiatives and studies through media outlets and digital platforms, they will also be allowed to use the award‘s emblem in marketing and promotional materials.

January through May is when applications for the Best Agricultural Project category are accepted.
