Municipalities and Agriculture Ministry allocates six agricultural plots to Bahraini farmers in Hoorat A’ali
Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), and Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, attended the signing ceremony, which was held via a public auction on the Government Land Investment Platform. The 10-year contracts, which include a one-year grace time to develop agricultural facilities, were signed by Asim Abdulatif Abdullah, Undersecretary for Agriculture and Animal Wealth Affairs.
In accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to empower Bahraini farmers, the initiative, according to Al Mubarak, supports the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to strengthen food security and develop the agricultural sector. Additionally, he emphasized the assistance of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the NIAD Advisory Council, whose initiatives continue to promote and maintain the industry.
He said that as part of its plan to increase local output and promote sustainable agriculture, the ministry is supplying the plots with necessary infrastructure, such as irrigation networks and treated and desalinated water.
According to Shaikha Maram bint Isa, the allocation shows how closely the ministry and NIAD work together to support farmers in increasing their output, improving their productivity, and solidifying their position in the country’s food security. She emphasized how NIAD continues to assist farmers by providing land, agricultural services, and development initiatives.
According to Asim Abdulatif Abdullah, the ministry still offers infrastructure and technical assistance to promote creativity and boost output. Field teams visit Hoorat A’ali once a week to provide advice and keep an eye on crop quality and irrigation to guarantee sustainable production.
