Manama, March 8 (BNA): A food retail business was shut down by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s Inspection Department after it was discovered that it had violated Consumer Protection Law No. 35 of 2012 by raising prices on a number of products without cause and ignoring the current extraordinary circumstances. The Public Prosecution has been tasked with taking legal action in this instance.

Additionally, the company was found to have violated consumer protection laws by failing to show prices on all of its products.

The ministry made it clear that it will not put up with any actions that violate the rights of consumers or interfere with the stability of the market and that it will continue to take severe legal action against those who violate the law.
