Nov. 19, Manama (BNA): At Sakhir Palace, prominent members of the Royal Family, high-ranking officials, a group of citizens, athletes, and members of the Supreme Organizing Committee and Executive Committee of the Third Asian Youth Games were welcomed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Under His Majesty’s patronage, the Kingdom of Bahrain recently held the Games.

Speaking at the event, His Majesty greeted the guests and took delight in hosting the audience in remembrance of the athletes who competed in the Third Asian Youth Games. According to His Majesty, the outcomes demonstrate the Bahraini sports industry’s capacity and preparedness to produce noteworthy achievements.

His Majesty observed that Bahrain was able to present the event in a way that reflected the Kingdom’s reputation in terms of organizational capacity since national efforts were coordinated from the beginning of the Games to their conclusion. His Majesty emphasized how each working team’s professionalism, discipline, and teamwork helped to successfully organize the continental event.

His Majesty praised the medal-winning athletes’ professionalism and sportsmanship and complimented them on reaching advanced positions. Additionally, His Majesty wished luck to Bahraini athletes participating at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh.

His Majesty thanked His Highness His Majesty commended Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), for his ongoing efforts to promote sports. He pointed out that these efforts have recently resulted in Bahrain being awarded the honor of hosting the 2027 Arab Games, an accomplishment that serves as a new source of pride for the country and a clear affirmation of the Kingdom’s abilities. In order to make sure the event is worthy of Bahrain’s reputation and solidifies its status as a top sports destination, His Majesty directed that preparations start early.

The medal-winning athletes were then given the privilege of welcoming His Majesty.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad complimented His Majesty on Bahrain’s successful hosting of the Third Asian Youth Games during his speech. According to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, the event was organized in ten months and attracted almost 8,000 participants from 45 countries, showcasing Bahrain as a model of effective and superior event delivery. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad emphasized that national sporting accomplishments are still fueled by His Majesty’s backing.

His Highness thanked His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the SCYS and Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, for his efforts to empower Bahraini youth, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his ongoing support of sports development.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad expressed gratitude to the Executive Committee, working teams, volunteers, and Supreme Organizing Committee for their contributions. The competitors from Bahrain performed admirably, winning 13 medals—five gold, five silver, and three bronze—according to His Highness.

His Highness emphasized Bahrain’s preparedness to host the first-ever Arab Games in 2027, pointing out that the Kingdom has grown to be a popular location for important sporting events.

Mohammed Hadi Al Halwaji then read a poem on the occasion.

The attendees thanked His Majesty for the opportunity to participate, pointing out that the event demonstrated the close relationship between His Majesty and the Bahraini people. They wished His Majesty good health and continued advancement and prosperity for the Kingdom, and they praised the national accomplishments made possible under His Majesty’s leadership.
