GCC launches logistics fast track route to facilitate movement of goods

The mechanism’s objectives, according to Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, are to lower operating costs, guarantee the seamless flow of trade across entry ports, and expedite the transfer of goods between GCC states.

By eliminating the requirement for final customs clearance at transit sites, the system creates a logistics fast track that connects major ports and airports throughout GCC nations utilizing sealed vehicles, cutting down on time and simplifying processes. To guarantee effective and smooth transportation of products, customs officials share shipment data, including cargo manifests and associated documentation, beforehand.

In order to guarantee prompt delivery, food, medical supplies, and perishable commodities are prioritized, according to Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad. In order to ensure speed and procedural efficiency, clear security controls are applied to vehicles and commodities, and the appropriate actions are taken in the event of suspected shipments.

He pointed out that while maintaining regional and global market competitiveness and guaranteeing the timely movement of trade across all participating entry points, the mechanism supports Gulf customs and economic integration, improves logistical efficiency, lowers customs complexity, and facilitates the flow of goods among GCC countries during times of crisis.
