New York, April 1 (BNA): António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, met with Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his visit to take part in the April Security Council meetings under Bahrain’s leadership.

Lana Nusseibeh, Minister of State for the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Rowaie, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s permanent representative to the UN in New York, Ambassador Mohamed Abushaha, the United Arab Emirates’ permanent representative to the UN, and the accompanying delegations also attended the meeting.
The discussion covered regional developments, the effects of Iranian strikes on other Arab nations and members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the security and stability of the area. The dangers of closing the Strait of Hormuz to international travel were also discussed, along with the UN‘s initiatives to boost humanitarian operations, sustainable development, global peace and security, and conflict resolution.
