Manama, Nov. 29 (BNA): A private driver who left a small girl in an unlicensed transport vehicle was placed under pre-trial detention by the Family and Child Prosecution.
Driver remanded for endangering child after leaving her in vehicle
After the girl was discovered in the car after returning from school, the father of the youngster reported the incident to the Budaiya Police Station.
The driver acknowledged that after leaving off pupils, he neglected to inspect the car. The youngster was asleep when the car broke down, and he put it on a recovery truck without making sure it was empty. It wasn’t until the family contacted him that he found her.
The prosecution advised parents to hire licensed drivers who must adhere to safety protocols, such as making sure that vehicles are empty before being secured and departed, and stated that it is still investigating infractions pertaining to student transportation.
