Manama, Dec. 2 (BNA): During her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to attend the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit as a Guest of Honor, Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, was received at Al Sakhir Palace by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

His Majesty the King greeted HE, the President of the Italian Council of Ministers, and expressed gratitude to Her Excellency for accepting the invitation to the summit, pointing out that Bahrain and Italy have long been close.
His Majesty the King welcomed the strong Bahrain–Italy relations, highlighting the continuous desire in supporting their development across all areas. His Majesty also welcomed the constructive efforts of Her Excellency in the improvement of bilateral ties and expressed appreciation for Italy’s essential contribution to world peace and security.
Regional and global developments of shared interest were discussed during the discussion.
On her part, HE Giorgia Meloni expressed thanks and gratefulness to HM the King for the assignation to visit the Kingdom to attend the GCC Summit and to meet with His Majesty and the leaders of the GCC countries. Her Excellency praised His Majesty’s part and commitment in enhancing the longstanding relations and advancing cooperation between the two countries for the benefit and substance of their peoples.
HM the King latterly hosted a regale in honour of HE the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic and the coexisting delegation.
