Nov. 27, Manama (BNA): Under the theme “Excellence, Creativity, and Innovation,” participants in the Bahraini Women in the Judicial and Legal Fields forum emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national commitment to advancing women and strengthening their role in all areas of development, particularly in justice and law as essential to a modern state and the rule of law.

They emphasized Bahraini women’s leadership in the legal field, their contribution to the advancement of digital transformation in justice and legal data governance, the protection of rights and freedoms, and the upholding of judicial principles, all of which constitute a national legal identity capable of advancement and influence.

Discussions on Bahraini women’s accomplishments in the judiciary and legal fields, their leadership in the development of the justice system, their status as an inspiring regional and global model, and the sharing of successful experiences that inspire the next generation to enter the field were all part of the forum’s sessions.

Inspiring legal leadership and the accomplishments of Bahraini women in the legal and judicial domains were the main topics of discussion in the first session. It examined their trailblazing career in leadership positions within the country’s justice system, emphasizing their contributions to the judiciary, such as gaining senior judicial positions and actively enhancing legal and judicial procedures.

It was observed that there are about 1,131 female attorneys, or almost 60% of Bahrain’s legal profession, demonstrating their increasing prominence in the field. Along with contemporary laws like the Family Law and the creation of the Alimony Fund, the session also emphasized advancements in the use of technology in case administration and international arbitration.

Legal developments that distinguish Bahraini women in practice were the topic of the second session. It discussed their accomplishments in legal education, research, and academia as well as their contributions to legal consulting, advocacy, and conflict resolution. They also discussed their role in advancing the use of artificial intelligence in the legal system.

The session also examined Bahrain’s advancements in e-government, including its third-place ranking in the Arab world in the UN E-Government Survey 2024, the introduction of national cybersecurity and artificial intelligence policies, and the establishment of specialized committees to aid in the Public Prosecution’s digitalization.

Speakers emphasized that Bahraini women have led by example in the legal sector for many years, skillfully and adaptably adjusting to the digital age. They have been able to implement creative solutions and enhance legal services as a result. They pointed out that women are becoming more prevalent in current legal disciplines and that they are capable of spearheading digital transformation and bolstering modern legal practice, which makes them an invaluable resource for the legal system and an inspiration to coming generations.
