Children of Ministry of Interior personnel and children of slain service members were invited to participate in the program, where they learned about archaeology through practical excavation and restoration activities. The initiative will continue until January 2026.

Director of Antiquities Shaikh Ebrahim bin Humood Al Khalifa emphasized that the program reflects the Authority’s dedication to promoting early appreciation for national heritage in collaboration with pertinent governmental and community organizations. He went on to say that the Authority wants to make sure that its archaeological and heritage sites act as educational spaces for the next generation, enhancing their feeling of self and community and expanding their knowledge of Bahrain’s rich cultural past.

At archaeological sites under the Authority’s supervision, the Young Archaeologist program provides an immersive learning environment that blends theory and practice. Using instruments inspired by professional fieldwork, participants unearth pre-buried objects and practice fundamental conservation techniques.

The program’s outreach and its function in advancing cultural and historical knowledge in an engaging and interactive context are further expanded throughout this season by the participation of educational, social, and philanthropic institutions.

As part of its larger sustainable cultural projects, BACA started this program with the goal of fostering a stronger bond between young people and Bahrain’s rich archaeological legacy and motivating future generations to save and conserve it. Through this initiative, Bahrain’s cultural position both locally and globally is improved, and the Authority continues to foster awareness for national history.
