SCW opens applications for fifth edition of the “Imtiaz “initiative
The initiative’s goals are to honor young Bahraini women entrepreneurs who have accomplished excellence and innovation in their projects, to showcase Bahraini women’s contributions to entrepreneurship, and to inspire women to pursue freelancing as a viable career path that offers numerous opportunities for participation in the labor market and advances the country’s economy.
Women entrepreneurs who meet the eligibility requirements—which include Bahraini nationality, being under 45, having at least three years of entrepreneurial experience, submitting a financial report of the business or project, and possessing an official license to operate the business in their name or with a minimum 50% partnership—are encouraged to apply. Sales, purchases, or service delivery should be the foundation of the participating project.
Under Decision Edict 10 of 2011, the program was started at the behest of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of SCW and Consort of His Majesty the King. Starting with 11 entrepreneurs in the first edition and reaching 98 participants in the fourth edition across several domains, the initiative has gathered pace during its past four iterations.
