September 30, Manama (BNA): During the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to Italy, the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) signed a historic framework agreement with Banco BPM S.p.A., one of Italy’s top joint stock banking institutions.

In addition to allowing Bahraini enterprises to investigate commercial and investment prospects in Italy, the agreement formalizes a strategic collaboration that will assist Italian entities looking to establish or expand their business in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

At the signing ceremony, which was also attended by representatives of Banco BPM and dignitaries from both nations, NBB Chairperson Hala Ali Husain Yateem represented the Bank.

“This agreement is a significant step forward in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Italy’s financial cooperation,” Yateem stated. We are assisting businesses and investors from both regions in pursuing profitable prospects with more ease and confidence by fusing Banco BPM’s institutional reach in Italy with NBB’s robust presence throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. This collaboration demonstrates NBB’s dedication to establishing strategic partnerships that foster greater investment and economic growth among our countries.

In order to promote cross-border transactions and assist the expansion of bilateral commerce and investment between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Italy, the agreement reaffirms NBB and Banco BPM‘s positions as key banking partners for clients growing throughout both nations.
