October 15, Manama (BNA): According to Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), business tourism is a key component of Bahrain’s Tourism Strategy 2022–2026, contributing to economic growth, revenue diversification, and the creation of high-quality jobs for Bahrainis.
BTEA holds workshops to promote business tourism
This occurred at the beginning of a series of interactive seminars that the BTEA had planned as part of the Tourism Strategy. The goal is to make the industry even better and more competitive. Travel and tourism agencies, hotel operators, and other pertinent stakeholders attended the second workshop, while representatives of various governmental entities attended the first.
At the workshops, the Minister introduced the main components of the business tourism activation strategy, detailing suggested activities to increase Bahrain’s visibility in this area. These include creating programs specifically for business travelers, incorporating Bahraini entertainment and culture into conference and exposition schedules, and starting a global marketing effort to highlight the Kingdom’s competitive advantages.
In order to create an integrated business tourism ecosystem that promotes sustainable growth and increases Bahrain‘s competitiveness both regionally and internationally as a top location for events, conferences, and international exhibitions, she emphasized the significance of fortifying public-private partnerships.
In-depth talks on improving stakeholder coordination, such as aligning project rollouts and creating collaborative task teams to track advancement, were also included in the sessions. The success of government efforts to solidify Bahrain’s status as a top travel destination for both leisure and business travelers was reflected in the tourism sector’s performance in 2024, which saw a significant increase in both visitor and revenue statistics.
