Bahrain Bourse, BIBF honour second cohort graduates of BHB Board Mentorship Programme
In addition to CEOs of listed companies and other institutions, program participants, board members, and the Executive Management of Bahrain Bourse and the BIBF, the ceremony was attended by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, and Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, CEO of the BIBF.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa stated: “We are proud of the outcomes achieved through our collaboration with the BIBF, which reflects our continued commitment to preparing qualified leaders who can play an active role in strengthening corporate governance and supporting the growth of Bahrain’s capital market.”
“This programme is a reflection of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s vision as Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which highlights the importance of empowering women in leadership positions and encouraging companies and institutions to appoint more women to their Boards of Directors, in recognition of their high competence, professional commitment, and vital role in strengthening governance and achieving sustainable growth,” stated Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, CEO of the BIBF. This collaboration is a testament to our pursuit of excellence and our commitment to giving students top-notch executive training. Additionally, the mentorship program offers prospective leaders a priceless chance to get instruction from professionals in the field and acquire firsthand experience in how to be successful on a board. This raises the standard of upcoming board meetings and leadership.
The program provided more than 40 hours of intense training over the course of five weeks with the goal of equipping executive leaders with the knowledge and abilities needed to take on future board duties, thus strengthening corporate governance. Participants gained the information and practical skills necessary to be eligible for board positions through interactive workshops and lectures led by regional and global professionals. The program’s “Board Factual Simulation” was a standout element, providing participants with the opportunity to practice making decisions, hone their strategic thinking, and participate in realistic board scenarios.
At the annual “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” event, which Bahrain Bourse hosted in collaboration with 105 international exchanges and clearing houses, as well as in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), and UN Women, the inaugural edition of the “Bahrain Bourse Board Mentorship Programme” was introduced in March 2024.
